A8 Question

See where the new Cadillac CT6 has an 8 speed transmission. Is it the same one as in the C7? If so, have they reported the types of problems noted In the C7?

The Corvette uses the 8L90 transmission. It is used in many different vehicles across GM. Some transmission have problems and some don't. It has more to do with when they were made and faulty components or assembly issues. I have not heard of a major design problem with the transmission however.

The Cadillac CT6 uses a 8L45 front mounted, Corvette uses a 8L90 rear mount, two different units with less stress on the CT6 due to HP.
