This is the second headlight to fail on my 14 C7 with 42,000 miles. I have an extended warranty, so cost isn't the issue. Anyone else have this recurring problem?
Out of curiosity, what's the cost to replace the bulb if it burns out?
I was told by the dealer $850 for the headlight and $1,400 for the whole headlight assembly. I'm glad I purchased that extended warranty just before the normal warranty expired.
Yeah but a lot of times you can repair the OEM housing if the seals have failed by resealing it yourself. Mustang, Camaro and Challenger owners do this all the time when they are upgrading their headlights. Pop it in the oven to loosen the glue, peel apart the housing, remove left over glue. Do whatever you're gonna do, and reseal.
150 bucks for a light bulb is insane though.

I agree. I have baked headlights and its not that hard, but I doubt most C7 owners would have the ***** or confidence to stick their Stingray headlights in an oven.
I have also ran beads of silicone sealant around housings and have gotten rid of the fog on other vehicles, so that is also a viable, minimal invasive option.
