I parked the car and tried to get out but was locked in. Car seemed to be in 'acc' mode as radio was on, and DIC said to step on brake to start.
I discovered I had turned the car off when in 'R', not park.
A restart and shutdown with shifter in park fixed the problem.
To coin the oft used phrase: "Car is operating as intended"
If you shut down in ANY gear other than Park, literally EVERY modern car will NOT allow you to remove the key (for cars with keys) or keep the car locked (as my wife's 2014 keyless Impala will do. I just tried it and it did the same thing as the OP's Corvette). How this is a "problem" is a mystery to me.

PS. BTW, as has been pointed out, you are NEVER locked in the car. The levers down by the seat on the floor are manual releases for the door should you lose electric power (or shut down in reverse).

I find myself doing the same once in a while. It is usually at the gas pump. Even when going through the restart and proper shut down the door button still doesn't work and I have to push the unlock button to open the door. Since I am in Oregon where the gas is pumped by an attendant this is especially frustrating for an old feller like me who wants to get the filler door open before the gas guy starts banging on it.
Pay no mind to the folks who are so much smarter than us and never make a mistake. The world needs normal people, too.
I was cleaning inside windows on my C6 with fob on the floor, I closed the door, you guessed it locked in. I grabbed the emergency door release and pulled, (discovered you don't have to pull just lift) any harder and I would have ripped the lever from the car. On an airplane, emergency releases require a pull.

I have nothing to offer, just getting in to see what other humorous remarks will be made.
If ever there was a thread BEGGING for the Corvette forum humor, it's this one. I am very impressed by the restraint exhibited (so far) by the members.
