The color scheme I like the best was the 2003, C5 50th anniversary metallic burgundy with saddle/tan seats. They were called anniversary red and shale. The verts had shale tops. Always liked that color combination.
Well, the 50th anniversary edition of the C5 was a let down(IMHO), even though the special edition sold well(as did all years of the C5).
Most people were expecting a lot more than what GM delivered on the 50th Anniversary C5, as generally the 50th Anniversary, of anything, is highly respected.
You don't hear much about 65th anniversaries.
I'm guessing that there will be a letter of congratulation from the President along with a photo of a diamond, in the glove box.
I've been asking for some form of a pearl white for years......with the new paint shop coming, hopefully they can get the panels to match?? I spoke with an engineer at one of the Corvette shows and he said that they wanted to do a pearl white/white diamond paint scheme for the 60th anniversary but could not get the panels to match properly with the paint process!

Just like my long beach red. I was so pleased that they had the LBR available since that burgandy from 2003 was my favorite.

Agree (always liked the 35th edition).
A pearl or "Cadillac White Metallic") would be very nice with a Oyster interior (don't do full the white wheels) but maybe a machine faced w/ white backing or a nice full satin silver. Would be a nice homage throwback to the 35th. Some tasteful 65th anniversary badging would be good. They could even do it using a GS body on the regular C7 (no perf extras), just the wide body.
They need some exotic color!! The old fart greens, dark reds, are soooooooo boring, I don't even notice them on the roads nor would own one, I would buy a Malibu if I wanted one of those colors, gm needs a head check and needs to get into the game with the loud colors like the exotics. Lambo still has the best colors hands down!!
2018 will be 65 years of Corvette! It's coming up fast as we are into the 2017 model year.
They seem to be going all out on the Camaro's 50th, so I was just wondering what you guys would want to see in the Corvette 65th?
.
Unfortunately "going all out on the Camaro's 50th" consists of a bland gray paint job with random orange accents and a few randomly placed logos. I'd hope they'd do something MUCH better for the corvette as I was completely let down by the 50th anniversary package on the Camaro.
I was disappointed with the color scheme for the Corvette 50th as well. Just too subtle-I expected more. I also believe the 65th is not a milestone that needs a special model for recognition. Maybe something at 70, 75 years for sure.

Perhaps w/ the new paint facility, GM will offer custom colors for those needing that itch scratched (for a feee of course). From a main-stream sales point of view, there will always be the standard palette of colors.

If they do a 65th, I would hope there is a little more HP. But I doubt it cause of the costs involved. And then would that be a one or two year thing or carry over to the C8.
The C6 60th anniversary package looked good (white car w/mostly blue interior) and was not "overdone" IMO.
Optional stripe package was a thoughtful add-on. Maybe GM will do something similar for the 65th ?
(special color combination)
(I'm assuming no performance enhancements will be offered)
