It's probably only a couple hundred dollars to repaint the mirror at a body shop. Find a good one and don't even mess around with the touch up paint in my opinion.

Hmm I think I am going to take it to the dealer lets see what he says, and I would have committed some serious crimes as well if I would have caught them in the act lol. I see you live in Orlando you should know some people in Tampa Fowler ave are a-holes to say the least.

Just my opinion, but it looks pretty minor to me... something a bit of touch-up paint will fix right up.

You might as well practice now because you will no doubt have some small paint dings show up in the front after some highway driving.

If you do see the video and it does show three guys messing with it, file a police report and maybe......maybe they will follow up with it.

Looks like a paint chip because of the pattern. Most likely a rock hit the side of the mirror.

Not under warranty and how could you expect the dealer to fix the problem under warranty? No way.

The problem is not a warranty issue. If GM started making repairs like this under warranty that would be painting thousands of cars annually.

I would check the video and if your car was vandalized; file a police report, get it fixed, forget about it.

My bet is the C7 owner will not see the video.

Doubtful a finger nail would do this damage.

If the manager is truthful at the filling station, then he would have to have a very high-quality video surveillance system to see any person gouging a fingernail into the side of the mirror housing. He would need an ultra close up recording of the event and have PTZ cameras.

The OP needs to have the mirror repaired and just move on. Over time, we all get minor paint nicks on the paint surface here and there. It's a car.

A police report will serve no purpose and is a waste of time for local law enforcement. The damage is very small and most likely well below any insurance deductible that the C7 owner has. It is very unlikely the C7 owner carries auto insurance with a $0 (zero) deductible.

I couldn't agree with you more! If I were able to hunt those a$$holes down through the video, I'd probably kill them literally if not confine them to a wheel chair for the rest of their life.

If anyone thinks that this is the first time these a$$holes did something like this you couldn't be more wrong. They need to go down extremely hard to send a message!

Sorry for your unfortunate luck. Dr. Colorchip next. Skip the police report.

Jason, you are making a good choice on so many levels. Those who advocate for police action or access to store video do not understand the law.

I walked out to my shiny new Outback and found a serious dent in my rear bumper. I'm sure it was caused by a bumper hitch when someone backed out of their parking place....it is very frustrating-I've still got to get it fixed.

Dr.Chip, and go drive your car!

He may be a bad photographer but it showed the damage....
Like everyone is stating, get some Dr Colorchip and go to work. Remember it is only a car and stuff is going to happen, but that said I'd be a bit put off myself.

That's an easy fix , one small removable piece vs. say a side panel. When I had my shop we did Lots of mirrors , remove, prep, base and clear. You can even personalize it with a decal before it's cleared. And because it's so small the the technology for high quality materials in spray cans exists today- if your experienced. Glass half full I would say!
