It's probably only a couple hundred dollars to repaint the mirror at a body shop. Find a good one and don't even mess around with the touch up paint in my opinion.
Hmm I think I am going to take it to the dealer lets see what he says, and I would have committed some serious crimes as well if I would have caught them in the act lol. I see you live in Orlando you should know some people in Tampa Fowler ave are a-holes to say the least.
Sorry for your news, this would **** me off too, this world and the new young people in it are to blame!!! They need to bring back where you can fight and kick people's a$$ whenever so respect comes back to the USA!!!
Didn't you forget to post the pictures of your vette in this thread? I mean you do post them in EVERY other thread you post too, regardless of whether it is on topic or not.
If the manager is truthful at the filling station, then he would have to have a very high-quality video surveillance system to see any person gouging a fingernail into the side of the mirror housing. He would need an ultra close up recording of the event and have PTZ cameras.
The OP needs to have the mirror repaired and just move on. Over time, we all get minor paint nicks on the paint surface here and there. It's a car.
A police report will serve no purpose and is a waste of time for local law enforcement. The damage is very small and most likely well below any insurance deductible that the C7 owner has. It is very unlikely the C7 owner carries auto insurance with a $0 (zero) deductible.
It was done on purpose as vandalism? It'd be bad if I got my hands on that video, would prob be locked up for some serious felonies.
I couldn't agree with you more! If I were able to hunt those a$$holes down through the video, I'd probably kill them literally if not confine them to a wheel chair for the rest of their life.
If anyone thinks that this is the first time these a$$holes did something like this you couldn't be more wrong. They need to go down extremely hard to send a message!
Thinking of doing the same thing after I get a no from the insurance.
Jason, you are making a good choice on so many levels. Those who advocate for police action or access to store video do not understand the law.
I walked out to my shiny new Outback and found a serious dent in my rear bumper. I'm sure it was caused by a bumper hitch when someone backed out of their parking place....it is very frustrating-I've still got to get it fixed.
Wow, you're the worst photographer ever! Thats a pretty big chip, you could try Dr. Colorchip because it will let you build layers on it a little more effectively than just a paint stick.
He may be a bad photographer but it showed the damage....
Like everyone is stating, get some Dr Colorchip and go to work. Remember it is only a car and stuff is going to happen, but that said I'd be a bit put off myself.
That's an easy fix , one small removable piece vs. say a side panel. When I had my shop we did Lots of mirrors , remove, prep, base and clear. You can even personalize it with a decal before it's cleared. And because it's so small the the technology for high quality materials in spray cans exists today- if your experienced. Glass half full I would say!
Thanks for all your great advice guys the owner did not let me see the video tbh I am glad rofl it would just make me more angry. I just want to move on ordered Dr chip will paint it myself, and make it good as new again
