Default Llumar vs. Xpel

I happened upon a shop that installs Llumar self healing film.

The quote I have from an installer for Xpel - 100 miles away - and the local Llumar guy is about the same for a full front end cover - fenders, bumper, hood, lights, mirrors.

Is there any material difference between Xpel vs. Llumar?

Or, is it all about the installer?

So you are saying you have no idea about his question. You just wanted to see pictures of your C7 that offer no real value in another thread.

To the OP, I am not familiar with the Llumar product but Xpel seems to have the BEST name in the business. After considering all of the options I am going with Xpel when the time comes.... hopefully in the next month or so. I'm going for the whole front end coverage.

Sorry OP, can't help you about the Llumar film as I have not used it. I do have Xpel on my DD and I have been very pleased with it - protects the car very well and I think the clarity is very good.

I've had all but xpel. My belief is the clear bra is only as good as the installer. Currently have lumar and is very good. Repels well and is optically clear non yellowing. They are there for protection not beauty so go with the best deal. I think xpel is over rated and expensive

Yes, it is ALL about the skills of the installer, regardless of the film chosen.

I don't believe there's all that much difference between various brands of film, but some are a bit thicker, and thus a bit more resistant to projectile penetration. Some offer longer warranties. Some are less resistant to yellowing over time. Some claim self-healing qualities as does XPEL Ultimate, which I've used on two different cars. It comes w/ a 10-year warranty, which I believe is the longest in the industry.

I'm happy w/ XPEL Ultimate, and have seen minor nicks self-heal after sitting in the sun for awhile. A tear is not going to self-heal on any film.

Regardless of the film, the installer makes the biggest difference. Finding a good installer is key, just because one is close to you doesn't make him your best choice. Vice versa, the one that's further that installs XPEL may not be as good as your local guy.

(Since the XPEL installer is far away, ask to see some of his installations or an up close shot of some of his installations.)

Always, always ask for wrapped edges where possible, meaning the film wraps over the edge with a minimal seam exposed.

Where are you located? We may have an installer that's not listed on our XPEL Dealer Locator.

He doesn't care. He just uses any opportunity he can get to post the same stale pictures of his car over and over again.

May I ask the extent of the damage that occurred to the Xpel and what was done to repair it? Thank you.

Just A couple small wrinkles.Took it back to the installer.He. Fixed it right up.Didn't charge me.I guess it's guaranteed in the 10 year warranty.
Can also install a quartz finest also.Some say it's overkill.At $2,000 Xpel
And 700 for Cquartz I believe your protecting it.Peel it off in 10 years and
You should have A new paint job.
