Default Black Exhaust Tips

I have done searches and am aware of various vendors, Corsa etc, that offer black tips and exhaust upgrade systems. I am not interested in exhaust upgrades, I am fine with the NPP exhaust system I have; sound etc is great. I just want black tips.

Are there options for that only?

Has anyone painted theirs? Not keen on this but maybe. If you did, what did you use and how has it worked out? Longevity issues? Issues cleaning them?

I think you pretty much have to remove a good bit of the system to do powder coating. Pretty sure the tips are welded on. If they were bolted, I would powder coat in a heartbeat.

I also think I would remove the fascia - would make it much easier to get good coverage on the tips.

Traded my C7 in but will get a GS in a few months...that said ...on my 2016 SS I "Dipped" them and they turned out just fine, handle the heat just fine and you can peel it away when done...if you want.
Just a thought.

I'm a fan of blacking things out, but I personally think black exhaust tips blend in to much. Its all personal taste though.

Corsa sells just the black tips (in two styles) if you want to go that route. I think they look great in either style.

I got a set of used Corsa tips free you pay the shipping if that's your thing. They were on 18 months a little discolored but Free is free.

I thought I read somewhee you could not use the tips without the mufflers? Or did I misunderstand?

Also, if you can use just Corsa tips doesnt that require cutting and welding? I dont think the OEM exhaust tips are bolted or clamped on?

Corsa site says their tips will only fit their mufflers, not OEM mufflers.

Did you remove the diffuser to do it? Difficult removal?

Wow!!! I was just about to start a thread saying after washing the car and the tips the other day my tips have a nice dark patina and I love the dark natural look. ( I am going to leave them get darker and darker by themselves without scrubbing them or polishing them).

Good Luck whatever you decide.
