Will probably sound like a dinasour, but I wish cars these days (including the C7) could be ordered without all the menu driven stuff, especially the touch screen infotainment/mapping systems. I find them terribly distracting!
I'm ok with digital displays on the dash for traditional stuff like speed, tach, etc, and would even like the ft/rear camera displays to be able to be shown there with the push of a button. But in the center stack give me an old fashion high quality sound system with simple ***** and an iPod input. I know the C6 could be ordered that way. Wish that was still available on the C7.
High tech? Pffht. I'll stick to my old fashioned flip phone, which BTW I leave turned off while I drive. And as for directions, I write them down before leaving the house.
With due respect, you are in the minority. I am 65 years old, and do not share your thought process. Times change, progress occurs. No matter how much we fight progress, it is reality.

Reason: No need to re-quote the OP, especially if you're the next person posting.

I knew I would be, and that's fine. Not saying do away with all the touch screen stuff. Just give one the option to order without it. Surprised the C6 could still be purchased that way. I'm not anti-progress either. I applaud all the new safety and convenience features, as long as they don't distract one's attention from the road. YMMV.
I see the OP's point and although he is definitley in the minority, he is by no means alone. Funny meme, but it doesn't apply to the OP because he didn't want the new technology.
You're able to buy the car without mag shocks and ediff, why not without the infotainment system?

It's not cost effective to do that. So if you really hate the new stuff, buy an older vehicle. Problem solved.
Believe me, I'm smart enough to understand it, if I care to make the effort, which I don't. Will play with all these new fangled gizmos from the comfort and safety of an easy chair, but not while I'm driving.
Would be a boring world if we all thought the same.
The only one - probably not. But if I had to guess, you're probably in the minority. I like a lot of the high tech gizmos on the newer cars.
Could not live with GPS I also still use a flip phone per say really don't care for it unless for emergency.
Work and talk to much now to people from work and putting out fires just don't care for facebook and the text on a dam phone the other part of the day. Robert

Actually, I did. A nice little 06 Miata. And out of the nearly 100 cars I've owned in my life time, it's become one of my all time favorites. Not more than the Vette though.
If you don't like the high tech stuff then simply don't use it. There, problem solved.
This thread will keep going until it reaches 3 pages of responses from people who want to argue with the OP or give replies like the OP hasn't been addressed.

I'm 74 and love the new stuff - love the GPS as I travel a lot in unknown (to me) places...
When I feel that I have to go "retro" I drive the '88 Ferrari - no power anything other than windows. AC primitive, no power steering, no power brakes. It's my favorite car out of all the Vettes and Porsche and BMWs and other neat stuff I've owned over the past 60 years.
Every time I think I'm going to sell the 328 it looks at me with a smile and says, "Yeah, right...."
