I have read all about the screen problems on the 2014s and it seemed they were corrected for the 2015s....but not the case for me. I am having the same flickering then blank screen problem every day, sometimes for long periods of time and other times it stays on for a while. Mine was built in early 2015 so perhaps I have the same issue as the 2014s - I have not seen anyone with a 2015 having this problem?
In any case I spoke to my service writer and advised I had several videos of this occurring...could they order a screen and then I'll make an appointment? No.....GM won't let me do that....it could be a software issue...bring it in and we will check it out. I already had the video software updated months ago but still no go.
So I will take it in for my appointment in a week and we shall see if it is software or if it needs a new screen.
My 2015 was built in September 2014 and no issues to date. I hope you get your issue resolved shortly.
Thanks but no such luck. I brought it in, they did a software upgrade and said GM says this fixes the screen blanking issue. Well, guess what? It doesn't. Still doing the same thing, flickering, blacking out, etc.
Time for appointment number two, I'll see when they can get me in. Maybe this time they will get it.
Its a problem with some '15s, too. I just took mine (born Dec. 15th, 2014) in for the same thing. I had already troublshot the problem to a blue wire connected to the bottom left of the screen. Wiggle the wire and the screen winks on and off. I showed this to the tech but he wanted to take the dash apart to make sure. Screens are on backorder.
I'd hate to be the vendor supplying those screens. Lots of customer returns!
