Default Curb Alert Update

OK, so after 1 year and 6 months and 1,894 miles, I finally disconnected the Curb Alert today! It has never worked properly since it was installed and I have actually reinstalled it at least 4 times.

There customer service is marvelous but......the product is less than reliable. Sometimes, it will work for a week or so and then...it starts up the random alarms again and will not stop. Then it is OK again for a couple of days and then does it again.

I have re-tightened the ground, rewired the feed (twice) and gone completely through the set up countless times and still the same result.

In theory, this is a product that every Corvette owner should have (prior to 2016 with the camera) but my 2015 just will not work with the device. I might move it to the 1998 that I also have but it seems like a lot of work to find out that the problem might still exist.

My recommendation, after the time, the experience and overall issues would be to pass on this product.

Just one person's opinion.

There is a thread on the on here that show how to install cheap front curb camera. Just search CHEAP CURB CAM. Fact is several of the readers removed their Curb Alert for this curb cam.

There are several of us that dis the research on this and posted lost of pictures on how to do it. You can install the cam for about $70.

Mine is working perfectly after almost 2 years. Very infrequently I will get a false "beep" when driving directly toward the sun when it is close to the horizon.

I have one on my C6, and the only complaint I had was the sensor kept moving, so I used RTV and sealed the hinge, and now it doesn't move and set for life.
Installed one on my cousin car, and also RTV the sense hinge, works overtime.

I suspect that given the responses, I must simply have a bad one. I know it to be installed correctly so that is the only conclusion I can draw.

I don't see if you ever had the system replaced under warranty or not but I think you should have. It definitely sounds like an internal electronic problem to me. I had a little trouble adjusting mine, but after watching the video and following the procedures there, mine has worked for a couple of years. Maybe you can still get a replacement since you have been working with the vendor. Definitely worth it.
