Well, Stangslayer, I respectfully disagree. Although I have not found evidence on the internet I know, by owning one, that the cars with A8 do have rev match. Not Active Rev Match, which only M7s have, meaning the driver selects it, but a passive rev match when using the paddle to downshift.
Have you ever spent any time driving an A8? You can feel the rev match. At speed, you feel the car surge forward for an instant before you feel the engine begin to brake the car. Its rather un-nerving the first time you feel it. Even at low speeds you can feel the rev match activate.
And why would a car with A8 NOT take advantage of the ability to match the engine revs to the transmission speed for a given downshift? The whole point of rev matching is to allow a smooth transition into an engine braking maneuver without upsetting the balance and traction.
The Corvette, A8 and M7, is a race bred car. Of course the A8 has rev match. Its one of many undocumented features of the Corvette.
