I was wondering if anyone's heard of water getting in the car through the dash. I left my car outside when it rained (not on purpose) and when I went to move it I felt water falling on my ankle under the dash. I lifted the floor mat and sure enough the entire floor was soaked. I've never had the issue when I wash the car but this was a heavy rain. The car was parked at an incline as well.
Just wondering if anyone else has had/heard of this before. Thx in advance

I got water in my Stingray once...but that's another story! Are the windows indexing properly all the way up when you shut the door?
I haven't heard of getting water in through the dash but I did have a leak problem a week ago. Maybe your problem is like mine.
I was out driving in the rain and had a leak start at the roofline of my '15 coupe. Its where the A pillar, roof, and window come together. I had several drops before I drove out of the rain but if it were sitting parked it might have been much worse. I've inspected the seals and can't find any issues. The roof was fully clamped in place so that wasn't the cause. I'm stumped.
Just a thought, there's a cabin air intake at the bottom of the windshield. It has a water drain somewhere. I wonder if your water drain is plugged. I had a dirt wasp build inside the AC drip tube on my truck once.
Windows are indexing properly and I was wearing shorts when I got in the car so I clearly felt the drops coming from under the dash, around where the hood release is at. I'm going to run water down the windshield to see if I can replicate it before taking to the dealer. Thx for the help guys
If it's like the C5s there are cowl drains for the HVAC inlets. If the drains (they are commonly referred to as udders) get clogged the water can back-up and come inside. It is typically found on the passenger side floor.
Best to pay an auto leak specialist to pinpoint it as they can be very tricky at times. Or, if under warranty, have the dealer look into it.

hey this is an older thread but I did have this same issue with a 2015 car I ordered. It came in from the dash not the windshield or anywhere else. It was coming in through the firewall. I made a thread on the topic, but short story is the machine at the factory that applies the sealant to the fire wall ran out of paste without throwing a code for more paste and 50 cars got through. That’s what the Chevy rep told me who took the car back
I had my windshield replaced and afterwards I had a leak coming down from under the dash on the left side. The dealer thought it was because the windshield not installed properly. They made Safelite install another windshield and it leaked in the same place. One bad windshield maybe, two bad not likely. Started to investigate the area where the water seemed to leaking in and found that there a VERY small crack in the inside of the A Pillar plastic. Apparently when Safelite removed the pillar to replace the first windshield they cracked it. The outside A Pillar seems to be a seal the prevents water from getting into the interior. Take a look at that!

Sorry for bringing back an old thread.
Did you ever find a solution?

This happened to me once as well. Car at gf house, rain, water found on wethertec floormats. Small puddle, like 1/2 cup. Look up from floor, a drop or two on lower dash, like above ankles. Wash car every week or two, never by water. Drive in rain, snow (this is my daily) never a drop before and never a drop since even when doing my best to flood the outside with water to reproduce the problem. Super strange. Her driveway is level too...
Windshield cowl is a pain to pull and do a deep dive. This is my best guess in terms of location to start a deep dive investigation.
I will hold off on that mission till it happens again.
Only piece of advice is try to replicate the leak with a garden hose. Check from lower areas and work your way to higher ones.
My '16 had water on the passenger floor board any time it sat outside in the rain. My issue was the same as Bob's in post #13. When the windshield had been replaced by a previous owner the installer damaged the A-pillar cover creating a source for the water to come in. You can get a new one for about $150 from GM. You do have to drill out the rivets that hold the weather stripping channel in place and reuse that piece.

If your car was parked like the front on a hill these cars have two holes that you can push wires thur them one on each side of the car about at the point of what you are talking about. With that said with car tilted up in the front & a good pour down of rain it could come into the car. Not going to say that for sure but also could be the bottom of your wideshild no having a good seal in it also....I will say this it is hard to see crap under this dash no real room at all. they have used about ever inch for about every thing they can get under the dash....Robert
