Default Help, Please

Would anyone who knows, please tell me how to disconnect the braided hose on the rear, of the driver's side, of the engine?

There is a clip on it that I removed, and I applied a bit of pressure to pull the hose loose, but it did not release.

I am referring to the braided hose by the oil dipstick in the attached pic.

Thanks a lot.

Did you depressurize the system. And what are you removing the fuel line for?

I've not removed mine on my C7, but I know on my 2009 Pontiac G8 GT, it required a fuel quick disconnect tool to release it. So I suspect that the C7 may require a similar tool.

I'm painting the coil covers. They would easier to reinstall without scratching them if the fuel line could be pulled aside.

i think there is an internal clip that a special tool is needed for. It is a split tool that wraps around the line and releases an internal clip. They sell them at most auto stores.

Wrap the line with painters tape when you reinstall. That will prevent scratches,

Just put some masking tape over the parts you're worried about scratching while you're installing them.

I just put mine back on carefully. Otherwise, taping really would be the easier way to go.

Harley - I just did mine a couple of months ago.
You need a special tool to disconnect the braided high pressure line.
I had a friend who is a 'real' mechanic stop by the house with the magic tool and popped it off in about 2 seconds.
It's next to impossible to get it off without the tool.

They sell the tool at most auto supply places from about $10 up.
Once you get it off though, you don't need it to put it back on, so try to borrow one or do like I did and find a good friend!
