I traded my Camaro for my new vette. I bought it solely for the performance and driving experience. I normally don't buy red cars, but this car was the best out of the seven I test drove, and at 20% off MSRP, it won.
What I'm not used to is the sheer amount of attention I've been getting. I don't know if it's because it's red or because it's a vette, or that a red vette looks like a Ferrari. I'm in my 30's and female and look okay, so maybe it's the "chick in vette" that's getting the attention. My Camaro got looks (white with orange racing stripes), but nothing like this.
I'm not quite sure how I feel about all of this attention. I'm not looking for attention, I'm out to enjoy my car.
How do you deal with all of the commotion this car causes?!? Do you like it?
(The best part about today besides driving this incredible car, was that a biker gave me the biker wave. I ride motorcycles, hence the FZ-09, and never got the wave while in a car)
Im honestly quite surprised of all this dishonesty in this thread. Yall love the attention, dont kid yourself. A corvette is an iconic american sports car that has that exotic factor that come with it in this generation. The fact that some of you say you "hate" the attention is actually waving your ego even more than others and you know it. If you truly dont like the attention, please do yourself a favor and the admirers a favor and sell the car so you can put your egotistic self to rest.
I'm an old man, lol, still the car gets looks. What's funny everybody seems to think they have to pass me and go faster than the vette.
I would say the passing part can be more at times, with the nice weather we've been having it seems like many people kind of stop short/slow down and kind of creep up slowly to see who's driving!
I don't mind the attention it's fun, Had a guy in a 64 Vette just lay on his horn at me yesterday while i was at a light and he was across the street.. as i looked over (thought someone was going to hit me) he was waving frantically at me
This was good , I was in a double left left turn in the RH lane of the double turn, to the right is two RH turns , Had a Vin Diesel look alike in a black hellcat stop right beside me (he had 50ft till the light) just sit there looking at the car I am sure he was looking for a race and noticed the ZO6 on the fender and he just crept away real slow, I thought to myself yes son carry on!

Reason: more
Whatever attention it does get and it varies as Vettes are pretty common here I am fine with. A wave, a nice car comment, people having to pass you, etc, no biggie.
I am a little surprised, but it has all been nice. Before this I had a 911 and then an Audi S5, neither of which attracted even a fraction of the discussion. Of course I did to with Torch Red. I think a bright red Vette is part of the American Mystique. We noticed it just a day or two after purchase. Out on a nice ride and had about 50 Harley's in a group ride going the other way Started getting the Harley wave!
A surprising number just come over to start talking about the car. Had a nice retired guy from GM come over. Just driving thru our small town, while stopped at a light, the UPS driver on one side started talking to me, while a tourist on the sidewalk snapped a photo of the car. Even had one nice woman drive 2 blocks just to let me know that the front driver light cut out when I used my turn signal.
Also fun to see how Vettes seem to multiply! Funny how often I park way out somewhere and return to find my Vette has company.

Yes!! I got passed by a red minivan that had been tailgating me. I noticed this with other cars too. I have nothing to prove (and too many vehicles insured) that I have no problem letting them go.
I've been with my husband for thirteen years. He's the only one whose attention matters to me. I wouldn't need a car to get attention anyway...
That's funny with the corvettes multiplying. We see that when we park our Prius (hey, 417k miles on an '07). My vette looks just like your red vette, except I have the coupe.
I like it at times, but sometimes i just wanna be low key and get my business done. But I have always had two cars. So I dont need to drive my vette every single day. Although most days I do because its fun

Have to let them go or we'll be proving ourselves all the time! lol
I like the out of the blue conversations that come up when strangers walk up to my car unless I have an appointment and need to be somewhere. I've yet to have anyone ask if I had time to talk, they just strike up a conversation and I have to be diplomatic in the way I exit.
