I am seriously thinking of taking advantage of the Ron Fellows driving deal at Spring Mountain. My wife will come with me, but will spend the days at the resort. My question, to those of you who have attended, are there things to do for my wife all day, and how is the food there? I would rather not have to drive to Vegas for our evening meals. Thanks in advance for any input.

Truthfully not much to do in the area. Best thing to do is sit in on the classes. Lots to learn without actually getting to drive the cars. The meals they provide are good but of course not on par with dinner out at a high class restaurant There is a SMALL lake that she can go relax, watch people with the jet packs on the backs fly around. She can even get adventurous and try it herself ! Rooms are nice with microwave and refrigerators for fixing something for yourself if you want. There is a national chain grocery store in town about 2-3 miles from Spring Mountain that you can go get some snacks/drinks. You won't have a lot of spare time if you are doing the class. Vegas is about a 50 mile drive and highway patrol is active on that trip !!

The restaurant at the local Winery is VERY good. There is also a passable Thai restaurant off the main drag. Other than that I didn't find much for restaurants for dinner, At the same time, I was too tired by the end of the day to want to drive to Las Vegas.
Meals (breakfast and lunch) were certainly filling even if the selections on the buffets were not numerous. You will find something to eat and I actually thought everything was prepared pretty well at Spring Mountain.
Go and enjoy and don't forget, she can do ride alongs while you are driving ands cab trend the lectures - she just can't drive.

another suggestion is for your wife to stay in vegas while you're doing the class and then meet up when you're done. There is next to nothing to do in town, if it were me and my wife was taking the class, I would be bored out of my mind. (And sitting in on the classes without driving would be a waste for me)
there are a bunch of local flavor casinos in town ....there is a nice pool at the resort ...and some decent local places to eat but nothing really high end.... she can do the ride a longs with the instructors... its much better then fast track at disney....
It is two days, including breakfast and lunch from about 8 am to 5 pm - how much does she really need to occupy essentially four 3 hour blocks of time?
The resort is nice for what it is and Parhump is a pretty small town about 3 miles away that has enough to eat for 3 nights - Symphony's (winery), Ohjah (Japanese), Mountain Grill Room (at Golf Course), El Jefe (Mexican are all very good - not NYC high end good, but typical resort good.
My wife took the class with me, we both did the 3 days. The wive's of others there could attend and ride with the instructors during track sessions.
Food there is OK, breakfast is decent but the rest was pretty fair.
The restaurant at the casino was good, better than the winery when we went but their hours are strange, call ahead.
So unless you want to take the hour drive back to Vegas nothing much at all to do. There is a gun range but I believe you need to bring your own, not sure if they rent.
I think the amount of free nights is determined By how slow their business is. I think their slow time is probably really hot or rainy months. Just a guess.
