Hey C7 General!! I'm finally here from C5. Got my new (to me) 2015 Night Race Blue Z51. When car was delivered the truck driver accidently kicked the lower dash and scratched the paint down to the black base material. Not really too bad but touch up paint will make it a lot better. I searched but found nothing about interior paint. Can anyone tell me the color and/or a source for the paint. I saw chips same dash spot on many Stingrays I looked at. He also chipped the nose on the car by hitting the car in front of it on the truck lol. I can find the exterior paint. Thanks

Can't help you with the paint. I would be mad as hell and would go after the trucking company.
Car was shipped to CarMax (I know but hey it's an awesome car) free for my approval. I pointed out that none of the damage was in the photos. They basically said take it or leave it. Pristine other than 2 paint chips. So far I think color code WA792S. Anyone know if this is the one?
Google mobile car interior repairs in your area. Or call your local Chevy store ask for the used car mgr and ask them what service they use to re condition used car interiors. Most dealers have a mobile service that does leather and vinyl repairs and re finishing. They custom tint and air brush anything from dashes to seats. This would be your best bet. Some even do minor exterior paint damage touch up as well.
Are you sure? I see this color "dark galvanized" listed as "interior color" . the dark galvanized (?) color has been scraped to reveal Very black shiny plastic. Thanks for the suggestions too about dealer detail repair companies.
The damage is right above the switch to open the hatch btw. VERY large piece to replace.
You might want to also try calling Mid America Motor Works in Effingham Il. They put out a very comprehensive catalog and include many types of restoration parts and factory reproduction paint finishes.

It's dye, not paint. they dip the plastic into dye vats on high heat for a small period of time. The longer it is left in the vat, the deeper the dye penetrates. (They probably use pressure as well to make the process even quicker).
Their process is probably more advanced but the same principal can be applied to RC parts by boiling some water, dumping in some food coloring and dropping in your plastic pieces that you want to dye for a few hours. We used to do this with our RC10's when I was a kid. Most of the plastic pieces were a dull and boring tan, so we'd do this as a cheap way to make them look better. If you didn't dye them long enough a scratch would reveal the tan underneath because the dye did not penetrate deep enough. Plastic is porous, it just takes heat as a catalyst to expand the plastic and allow the dye to more easily penetrate.
It's cheaper to mold all the plastic as one color and then dye to order. That way they aren't left with large inventories of colors that nobody wanted.
Paint/Clearcoat would wear too quickly. Your body secretes sweat which is acidic and breaks down the paint/clearcoat.
