Has anybody had any luck leaving the module plugged in all the time?
I am plugging mine in after the car starts and unplugging it when I shut it off. When I left mine plugged in at the start, it started funny and had a CEL with 10 codes. It would not shift higher than 4th gear.

I did not get any codes, but was concerned about the s all amounts of amps it draws.
I got this
https://www.amazon.com/Tonsiki-Femal...ds=obd2+switch
To shut it off after a ride and to prevent in/out on the obd2 port.

It sounds like yours might be an older one with out of date software. I believe that Range is offering a free software update/exchange. Check their website.

Maybe this has been resolved with the software update mentioned above. When the C7 came out, a lot was written about the Range option on this forum. One member bought one and had issues like you mention. The other issue was that it was a constant power draw. For those two reasons i opted not to get one.

Instead I just use the paddle shifters. Eliminates the whole V4 issue and is fun. After owning the car for 2 years (8K miles) that approach has worked out well.

Edit: Just read about the switch; that was not available (or at least i could not find it) when i was looking. It would help but still risky in terms of remembering to switch it off. Such a pain, why can't we have a button on the dash provided by GM???

I bought one last fall and haven't had any issues with it. I leave it plugged in all the time unless I'm after gas millage. It does have a small current draw But I do keep the Vette on a Battery Tender anyway.

Had the same issues until I had it updated and no problems since then, However if you leave it in for about 3 days your battery will be dead. Did it twice....
