'16 Convertible Z51 3LT

When doing demo with dealer the text receive and send a reply worked as advertised. Now I can receive texts, have them read or read on the screen; however, now after I select a pre written reply and hit send I get an error message that says "...not able to reply, phone doesn't have feature etc...". I have an iPhone 6 updated to latest iOS.

I'm guessing there is a setting somewhere I am missing...any ideas or suggestions greatly appreciated.

Tks

Its not GM. The issue is Apple. Apple iOS prohibits the auto text replies in all makes of cars. Will not work on my Stingray or Harley. Wive's android works on in my car and on her Harley. I have talked with GM, and Harley both blame Apple

Solution: Get an Android phone. You'll even get a headphone jack!

You can voice text an iPhone with the CarPlay option on '16's.

Does this require the phone to be connected by cable or holding the voice button until the double chime?

Tks

I think the phone has to be connected via USB. I know it works this way, I'm not sure if you can use Carplay any other way.

You don't need CarPlay to do this. You can do it through Siri.

If you are connected via Bluetooth, just hold the voice button down until the Siri chimes. No need for CarPlay.
