I am just looking for some various opinions about the C7 Corvette....My husband and I have three Corvettes, a C2, C3 and a C6. We have been looking into possibly purchasing a C7, but we are curious as to why there are so many low mileage C7's currently for sale? We have driven 4 so far and like them very much, but our C6 has been a great car and pretty much bullet proof and we are just curious as to what some of your opinions are as to why so many are currently for sale.
They've sold somewhere around 100,000 C7s. There are bound to be some for sale due to people upgrading, changing to a different car, and a myriad of other reasons. I can say that my C7 is better in every way imaginable than the C6 I traded in on it. There is absolutely nothing about the C6 I miss.
Just from reading here on the C7 forum there are many here that want the latest and newest model Corvette and trade up. Look how many bought the Stingray in 2014 and upgraded to the Z06 when it came out in 2015. Now this year the Grand Sport came out many on this forum are trading up to newest model. Then I see some that trade in their C7 for new C7 every year or two. Many other reasons why they are out there, some get in over their heads with large payments, others realize it's not a practical car for someone with a family. The list goes on and on. I love my problem free C7 and think it's the best car I have ever owned.

I've traded my 2008 Z51 coupe (great car) for a 2016 base coupe. Here is what I miss about the C6:
* Cargo room in the hatch is 15 cu' for the C7 vs 24.4 in the C6.
* The more supportive side bolstering in the seats of the C7 prevent you or your passenger from easily retrieving items stored in the hatch area behind you without inhuman contortions while driving.
That's it. Every single other aspect I can think of on the C7 is significantly improved. It's faster, handles better and is more comfortable. Aesthetics are personal, but I have received more over the top compliments on my Stingray in two months of ownership than in eight years of owning my C6 which was a beautiful Jetstream Blue.
Some of these guys change Corvettes more often than others change their undies so I wouldn't read too much into the fact that there are quite a few used ones for sale. That should make it easy for folks to find a gently used one and save some $$$$.

Hmm, with all those Vettes you need another, my C7, Z51, 3LT excellent condition Vette will be up for sale in March so I can get my next, a GS! This low mileage Vette has been back to the dealer only once, in October 2013 when GM asked to bring it in for a dif fluid check. It checked fine and has not had one problem requiring me to be back, love it!
Many of us do sell them after 3 to 4 years to get the next! No more room with my ProStreet Rod and wife's SUV taking the other two garage slots!
My C6 Z51 and prior Vettes all served me well but their time came as well. Love them all but they are cars not pets!
Like stated earlier, most are upgrading to a GS or Z06. Take advantage of the 14-15's with low miles and get one at good discount if you can find your color combo.
I wouldn't say "most," but I agree with the rest of what you say.
I did the same in June and picked up a CPO "cherry," loaded, Z51 convertible w/ less than 4K miles at a much better price than a stripped-down '16 base at a 20% discount.

Those numbers are NOT representative of usable space! The bottom square footage is about the same! GM switched measurement methods with the C7 (as well as other cars, check the Cadillac CTS for identical cars around that time, it went from 12.5 ft3 to 10.5 ft3!
They stopped measuring how many ping pong ***** you could fit and now use a method defined by the SAE as having more practical value. By the way it was tough getting all those ping pong ***** filled up under the glass in the C6! :lol
I can fit almost as much in the C7! Vertically it is less and why the numbers look as they do.
This is a pic I took at Laguna Seca in August 2013 of an IVER. The first C7's I saw in person after having ordered mine months before the first production was built!
Packed Hatch! May need to use soft sided luggage or the rolling duffels we use but you can fit a lot, including two golf bags etc!
Have a 15 coupe. We just arrived at the "lower" Outer Banks in NC on vacation. Room is no problem. You need soft bags instead of a suit case. Just look,
The C7 happens to hold a lot of stuff. Around the hatch edges are the big difference.

I have owned a 1962,1974,1998 and a 2011. Enjoyed each car. Currently drive a 2015 Z51 3LT. I can tell you the power difference from C6 to C7 is significant. The C7 drives better than any of the other Corvettes I have owned and is much more improved with electronics, fit and finish, quality of seats, suspension, stability control etc. Chevy is improving these cars each year and it is nice to enjoy the latest and greatest which explains some of the turn over. Back in the day Corvettes were very limited in production and harder to find. Demand for Corvette has driven production numbers up so more cars new and used are on the market. More cars being available facilitates access and that is a good timing if you like C7.

Many a Corvette is bought as an impulse purchase once in the car for awhile some people realize they should have purchased that cts instead. All sorts of reasons really.
