Default Crazy Winter tire question

I just purchased a 2017 Grand Sport. I will be driving it from Indy to Florida this winter. I purchased a set of Centennial Cup rims so I can put a set of all season or winter tires on it for the drive and use in Florida. I see that Michelin now makes an all season run flat Pilot Sport A/S 3+ in a 285/30ZR/19 size that will fit the front. They do not make a corresponding 335/25ZR/20 for the rear. However Pirelli makes a non-run flat Sotto Zero 3 that will fit the rear.

Now the crazy question: Would it be ok to use the Michelin fronts and the Pirelli rears?

You'd be pairing two different tread patterns and on top of that two different tire types - all seasons on the front and winters on the back. I wouldn't do that if I were you, but I don't have first hand experience with what will or won't go wrong if you did it.

Pirelli threw a fit (and Luke from tirerack advised against it too) when I asked about putting Sottozero 2s on the front and Sottozero 3s on the back.

What I eventually went with were a complete set of winters. Sottozero 3 -275s in the front and 305s in the rear. Verified to work on the stock wheel size by a couple Z06 owners who winter drive it and Luke suggested the same combination.

Do the 305s look anorexic on the ZO6/GS rim?

I haven't mounted them yet on the car (waiting for winter before doing so). They might look a bit thinner but I don't know how visible that will be.

The other thread where folks talked about winter tires for the Z06 is here-

https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...post1591042660

The post that I linked to above (#73, Page 4 on that thread) shows how the thinner tires look on the Speedline Cup wheels (which turned out to be the GS wheel design anyway :P ). Slightly anemic if you look close enough since the wheel lip sticks out a tiny bit more - but not that much.
