Default Trunk release issue

So my electronic truck release (both the dashboard switch and pressure pad above the license plate) have been functioning intermittently. Sometimes I would only hear a click and the trunk wouldn't open.

I had the car serviced today at Uftring Chevrolet in Washington, Il and they found the problem. This spring when I jump started the car I apparently snagged the manual trunk release when replacing the carpet. It was pulling the handle just enough that it caused the electronic release to be overridden. I felt like an idiot but I'm happy it wasn't a serious issue.

They also did the airbag recall (a software update) while I waited. Thanks to Uftring for the fine work.

2014 Premier Edition Convertible.

There is a pressure pad above the license plate you can open the trunk with? Huh, did not know that. Guess I didn't know about the manual trunk release either. I DO know about the hidden key slot above the tag.

Yeah. The pressure pad is on the right upper area of the overhang for the license plate inset. It's to the left of the keyhole.

Sounds like the appropriate time to remind everyone that there is a manual door release handle on the floor on the left side of the driver's seat, and on the same area on the right side of the passenger seat.
