So far 100% positive here in MN . . . A surprising number come over to talk to me about the car, or shout comments if I have the top down at a stop sign.
Once at Sheetz filling up some asshat said to me "You must have a tiny ***** to drive a car like that." I told him "Your wife never complained." He stopped talking. :-)

My wife and I stopped at Wally World to pickup something snd when we came out someone had poured a coke on the hood of the car.
My brother in law just bought a new Jeep Wrangler Rubicon with all the trimmings. He and my sister parked outside a restaurant with the Jeep doors and roof off, and when they returned from eating they found someone had poured an entire large cup of dip spit all over the interior.
The nerve of some people. I have to assume the people that do these things have never worked hard for something nice in their life.
Nothing really negative mostly people giving thumbs up or commenting beautiful car, etc.
Admittedly the only place I usually park it for any length of time is at the golf course.
Parking anything decent in Walmart is a gamble with some of the morons who have to destroy the property of others.
I've noticed when I drive spirited, other cars try to race me. Thank god there has not been any vandalism. The C7 is my only car so I have no choice but to drive it everywhere.
As soon as I get some extra cash, I'll get a beater.

I'm seriously thinking about placing the car in "Valet" mode each time I park somewhere and back the car in. This way it is recording and will catch anyone that might be coming up to the car from the front with bad intentions.
I seem to be the exception. I have owned corvettes for the last 18 years or so. And have never had a negative experience that I can remember. (unless you count the clowns that park right next to you when you have parked out at the back edge of the parking lot). Certainly nothing like some of these examples. But I have had many conversations with people who have a love for sports cars, or just thought it "looks nice". And had dozens of pics made with people standing next to, or in some cases, sitting in my car.
I'm glad I have somehow been spared the other scenarios. Maybe I have now tempted fate and will return to car with foot prints on the hood.
I would guess that I get negative attention when driving one of my Corvettes about 5% of the time. When someone does want to race(which is very seldom) they are not really serious. I get thumbs up 95% of the time.
I have more problems when I'm driving my Mercedes 4 door sedan. Then a lot of people get aggressive as I believe they think I can afford a Mercedes because I personally stole their money, instead of me working hard all my life for what I have.

If I have someone like that who is persistent in wanting to race, I don't say a word just hold up my police ID. Sometimes a picture is worth a thousand words.

Great one! Seldom happens, but I don't respond well to someone getting up in my face (which is how I'd interpret that remark). If he'd smiled while delivering the remark, I'd take it with a good spirit. If he was being a ******** about it, I'd likely have responded in kind. Given the fact the last time I was in a fight was 40 years ago, I'd probably end up on the ground.

I had someone roughly my age (20's) try intimidating me with his 80's or 90's Chevy S10. He'd rev it while driving next to me trying to get me to race. I ignored him and slowed down since my turn was coming up.
I have noticed that some people are extra nice to me while driving, while others are extra rude. I encounter more rude people in the Corvette compared to when I had my ATS. I think it's out of jealousy.
My town is full of fancy cars, but I get the most looks from middle-aged men driving Porsches (coupes and SUVs). Almost all of them do double takes at me because of my age. I won't complain

It cannot be that far off for 360° video - surveillance recording when parked, is available on valuable cars like the C7. A video of the approaching perp and their vehicle would be very valuable to possess.
When it's known to the rank and file vandal, that they're potentially being recorded, I think many incidents will be avoided because of the technology.
39 years ago, my new C3's outside driver's mirror was whacked, breaking the mirror glass, and splintering the fiberglass. It's JC Whitney $135.00 full car cover was stolen as well. My prized, new Corvette was left to fend for itself under a wide open carport at my apartment complex, in a very upscale section of Germantown, Tennessee where I lived. Corvettes bring the hatred out in some people. Apprehending and prosecuting the perps, is something I would like to be able to do.
