Hey all,

I currently have a 2002 M6 Coupe with every feature available including both tops. I am considering a 2016 Z51 3LT, my question is: are there any industry wide issues with this vintage Vette I should be aware of?

I ask because I went through the recall/disable steering/reprogram fuel shut off problems with my current car.

Thanks for any comments on this car, Larry.

I have that exact car built a year ago in a manual transmission. I just took it in for the airbag recall, oil change and I had the right front turn signal fail so they replaced the headlight assembly. Other than that, the car has been outstanding.

J have a '15 with 27,000 miles on it and it has only been in the shop for oil changes. It is a 7M, 2lt base car. Although it has fewer performance parts ( e-dif, trans cooler, etc.) the car is solid whether it is a Z51 or a base. I suspect that if you have dug around on the forum you will see the many threads on issues, but as with any car there will be bad ones or disgruntled owners.
Having owner Corvettes sense the mid 60's I can vouch for their reliability. I have never had a mechanical breakdown of any sort in any of them. Had an '09 that had a BCM go bad and a '98 that was loaded with electrical glitches ( GM buyback ) but never a tranny or engine, brakes or clutch. Or anything suspension related.
The C7 is by far the best Corvette ever made and it is finally catching up to it competition in interior quality and body panel fit. There is not another car made by any other manufacturer that comes near it in this price range...come to think of it, it is the only one in it's price range...Best dollar value out there.
I have owned many other cars over the past 55 years, both foreign and domestic, while they were nice and fun this C7 fills the bill, sporty, handles well, rides good, lots of power.
Do yourself a favor and drive one, or better yet rent one for a day and see what I am talking about.

My C7 just turned 5K miles. Been on a three week road trip, and the car has been flawless. I enjoyed my C6, and then made the fatal mistake of test driving a C7. Drive one, and you'll understand.
