Default Air bag reprogram

Had my ride back to the dealer today for the recall and reporgram for the air bags! Everything went well, took about 30 minutes and none of my settings were lost!!

Me too. Airbag/seatbelt recall and 500 mile oil change done in less than an hour.

Did the dealer or GM contact you about the airbag recall or did you ask them? I haven't heard a word officially. Thanks.

Had it done in less than an hour. It did mess up a few of my settings in memory, but relatively easy to fix.

If you've put a different hmi module in to add factory nav, I wonder if that will be a problem for the programming?

Haven't heard from GM or Dealer. Just checked the website and mine's there. Guess I need to call dealer.

OnStar alerted my dealer. They sent me an email. Called last week and was in and out on same day. Spent less than an hour and lost no settings-except Sirius channel. I guess the tech didn't like "The Joint". Probably a racist.

I have to check the sounds on my PDR now that it is mentioned, BUT it DID wipe out my seat settings It took me a while to get it perfect and I had to fiddle around with it ALL day on Saturday. No big deal...just surprised it happened.

Took my vette in for oil change and they told me they were going to reprogram the air bag.
All done.

You or your passenger could die or be seriously injured in the event of an accident.

The airbags won't work.

I don't think that's true. I've yet to receive my notice that there's a recall so I don't see how they expect to get it complete by the end of September. I learned about it here on the forums. I was already set to have an oil change and state inspection so adding the recall corrective action was expected.
Maybe your dealer was told all the Vettes in their inventory must be complete by the end of September. That's sounds reasonable.
EDIT: BTW, none of the computer settings were affected by the reprogramming, all radio settings, seat settings etc. were as before.
