I know a lot of you cuss it every breath but I love it! Spent the day at Charlotte Motor Speedway GM Track Day. On the road course it was simply amazing. Smooth quick, right on the money for the gear I needed. Entering the turns it was downshifting at the perfect points to maintain speed upshifting to let it eat... Thanks GM and Kevin Whitaker Chev for giving me the opportunity to really enjoy my car. Had time on the road course, the 1.5 mi oval and miltiple passes down the ZMax dragway. Launch control is pretty neat also.

Could not agree more! Not to throw any proverbial stones here, but I certainly haven't had any issues and think some of the issues are overstated.
Reliability of the entire drive train was something I asked about while at the Ron Fellows school, (Feb '15) and they said their experience was the A8/M7 (and the entire drivetrain) was pretty much bullet proof.
Thanks for the review! Something some of us (like me) might never have a chance to experience ourselves, so a little vicarious fun.
I did have the chance at Spring Mountain to drive the A8 as fast as I dared, but we were directed to paddle shift. It would have been fun to try the same course on auto.
There is a lot more to this transmission that just punching it to the floor, going all out WOT, and engaging Performance shifts.
Once one learns of the nuances of pressure, and how to regulate the gas pedal to change the dynamics of the transmission.
The A8 can be quite exhilarating, in a variety of different ways by just leaving it in Drive.

My experience exactly. I really enjoy it and after 30 years of driving stick Vettes I would not go back.

Unfortunately I learned this too late in our autocross season on the last day. Leave it in drive in track race mode and I got just a glimpse of what it might do. Can't wait til next year to explore more. It was in the proper gear at the right time without me trying to find paddles. Try it you'll like it.
