Default 2 quick things ...

First a question: Occasionally when I get in the car and close the door, the horn will sound 3 quick beeps. Usually when others are around and I get a lot of stares. FOB is in my pocket.

Second a fun comment: Cruising RI today - great weather. Stopped off in Woonsocket to take a look about and whilst stopped at a light a police car pulled up next to me and the officer looked over and said "Do you wanna race?" LOL, I told him no fair, I had cars in front of me. He said he could always put the lights on. Nice to meet a cop with a good sense of fun.

I know when i leave the FOB in the car, say i'm getting gas and i step out of the car, as soon as i close the door the horn will chirp 3 times.

But this is always AFTER the car was on, then off.

If i first get in the car, without having the car on, i don't get the chirp.

I think it's because after your shut your car off, your FOB is still within range (OF STARTING), that's why it chirps.

And it doesn't chirp if you keep it in your pocket and you get out of the car to close the door.

Sorry if that sounds confusing lol

Mine also does that at times, I believe its in the program system and could be changed. if you want. Others can give you more details, I'm sure.

Mine does this...the 3 quick beeps..., but only intermittent as soon as I turn the car off. I'm guessing about 1 out of every 3 times I turn the car off. But it has only been doing it for the last 2 weeks. I got the car on Aug 29th.

It can be changed in the Personalization menu. I hate that 3 beeps. Everyone looks and also it startles me to no end every time I put the car in the garage.

That's the ticket. I silenced all those annoying (to me) beeps.

If it's the same as my c6, the horn honks as a safety feature to prevent you from closing the keys inside and you walking away from the car.

To avoid the car thinking that the keys were left inside the car unintentionally, make sure you close the door with the keys outside of the car. Then open the door, get inside, and close the door.

This happens to me when pumping gas and I'm not paying attention. You have to be sure you close the door after you get out of the car.

Edit: On a side note, when wearing gym shorts, the key sometimes slides out from my pocket between the seat and console. Without checking my pocket every time, if I had silenced the beeps, my car would have been 1 curious person away from vanishing while I'm in the gym.
