No biggie but worth a heads up for those who plan to get the recall done.
However, my seat memory settings still worked as I had programmed them.

I haven't had the recall done, and I'm in no big rush to do so, but will at some point.
The link for the procedure in post #19 contains a number of detailed steps, and it wouldn't surprise me if some service techs failed to follow it exactly. It would also not be terribly surprising if a failure to follow the re-flash procedure exactly caused a default back to factory settings.
That's the only logical explanation for why some got their cars back w/ their settings intact and others did not. The "software glitch" theory makes no sense.
However, I just don't see what the big deal is. When you bought the car, you had to set it up the way you wanted it. I takes less than 5 minutes to do it again.

As to your other comment, is there a master list of codes that we owners can access to see if the update fix actually was installed?

I'm glad you did share it and found it a useful heads-up.
I can't answer the question in your last sentence above.

Just got mine back from the dealer this morning. The only difference I could discern was the door chime was re-enabled when I picked it up - everything else worked as before. They did the air bag recall and an ECM update along with replacing all four rotors per the TSB. Paradise Chevrolet in Temecula rocks.

Did anyone get a recall letter from GM yet?
I just know my car is included because I checked the VIN.
Thank you,
Aflyer

Had it done last Tuesday. Seat settings were set to a very small person - made ma a pretzel! All of the settings for driver were set to defaults. All was easy to reset. Would have been nice to know it was going to happen.

Air Bag Reprogramming
I had mine done last Friday. Now every time I start the car the yellow rev limit line shows up on the tach like it did when the car was new.
It then seems to count down as the yellow line moves about 100 rpm at a time until it goes away after a while.
I'm leaving on a trip tomorrow so I hope nothing else goes wrong. I guess GM was in a rush to fix the air bag issue and didn't look into the other side effects caused by the update.

That's why I am waiting. They will probably issue an pdate the fixes the first update. And roll it up into one final patch. Hopefully.

The purpose of that display is to indicate that you should keep your engine rpms below the yellow band until the engine reaches normal operating temp. As the engine warms, line moves to the right, and eventually disappears.

Had mine done today and the seat memory settings were messed up. It was a simple fix adjusting back to my liking.
The good news is they completed the recall on this trip. Several customers waiting did not get the air bag update because the dealers midi was not operating correctly. That must be an interface to the internet so they can get the download from GM. Fortunately, it worked when my car was pulled into the bay and it completed successfully. Did not look forward to a return visit.
