I did that for many years. Then sold my 54 Hudson Hornet for a car 60 years newer.

Dealers tend to order the easiest to sell colors. Black, White, Red (torch), Silver, Gray (darker).

Not many will order a say Black Rose for example as dealer stock. You want one of those typically have to order it.

The exception is the larger dealers (mainly Forum dealers) that order so many cars they will get a mix of everything knowing that someone will want it.

Just to bring it back to DSOM. I got lucky and found my car in a local dealer's inventory, and was able to get it for 20% off of MSRP. We're in a small market and the dealer probably only sells 5-10 Corvettes per year. It is a 2016 that was built in November 2015, and I didn't buy it until August 2016, which meant that it was on the lot for 10 months

01vettecop, thank you for your sexual comment based on a certain car color. You are a true gentleman and a Mensa member. Maybe you have color envy among other disorders. Paul
