Well I know a lot of folks who went with the black wheels since they're "in style" right now. But I went with chrome because of 2 reasons. They're easier to maintain and they look better.

I looked at the same car with chrome wheels and accents as well as black wheels and accents. Liked both as long as they are part of a "total package ". Chrome is more classic, black seems more current.

From many threads and reading many posts, it certainly seems that Black vs Chrome is somewhat age based.

Younger owners prefer black while older owners prefer chrome or hyper silver.

I prefer the chrome or hyper silver wheels over black.

I think black wheels have their place only on certain color vehicles.

My opinion is they lose the focal point of the vehicle, as the black wheels look like a black round block.

My preference is chrome.

I prefer chrome always although different colors do make the black look okay. Black chrome wheels $500 option while chrome wheels are a $2000 option. You figure.

Choose wisely (although changing wheels is cheaper than changing women ).

I really like the black but feel all black wheels need something going on with the rim to define the end of the rim and the beginning of the tire. Vinyl tape worked for me.

It truly is an age thing, younger people prefer the black from my experience.

I may get flamed but I absolutely hate chrome on any part of the car. Blk wheels along with blk trim and emblems looks good on just about any color.
I would even go with the silver alum. wheels over blk on certain colors.

The only vehicle I own with chrome is my Harley.
And since "younger' people prefer black, I must be a young 62.

That's the only way IMHO they look good. And younger owners haven't had to learn from experience yet. They will. We all did eventually.
