Default Chrome wheels or Black

Hey was wondering what type of wheel is more popular, I am kind of old school, ordering a 2017 GS coupe but not sure what wheels to order, my previous 5 vetted old had chrome wheels. Looking to get Watkins Glen and Kalahari interior. Thanks for any in put.

I am with the neither crowd - I like the silver painted, pearl and machined one far better than black or chrome.

It depends on the color of the car. Bright red screams black wheels to me. Dark red needs chrome wheels. Black car can go either way. Blue needs black wheels. Green looks better with chrome. Silver can go either way. White with black wheels is sexy!

You're going to get both answers. Why don't you just get what you like? I don't understand threads like this.

Just curious what other Vette lovers like. Seems like majority of cars on dealership lots have black wheels

I ordered the black wheels on my Z07 GS bit to be honest, the more I see the standard wheels that come on the GS that are just the machined aluminum finish, the more I like them. If I were you, I'd get either the black or the standard wheels, save a few bucks and then buy a nice set of aftermarket wheels from someone like forgeline and get the exact finish you want. Just my .02 cents.

I went with polished aluminum Motorsport wheels on my Laguna blue coupe.

Look at photos of Vettes with black wheels and to me it looks like a big black void.

I also don't get these type of threads.

I just purchased a C7 stingray and I got the black wheels and I am from the Old Old school, older than you and I really get the compliments on the wheels. All my grandchildren love them.

With a white car, DEFINITELY get black wheels. Same goes for bright (Torch) Red. Black car will look great with black or chrome wheels.

For a bright blue car, black wheels are probably going to look the best - but a darker shade of blue almost demands chrome.

My free advice is worth exactly what you paid for it. Get what makes YOU happy!

i have shark gray with black interior. Red calipers, and some small red accents, but mostly black accents (carbon flash emblems etc) I ordered with chrome wheels and liked them for a while. I got bored one day of them and i bought black plastidip and painted my wheels black. I should have saved myself $1500 and ordered them in black. Looks so much better with the gray and black accents. Going to order black Z06 reproductions for xmas i think

I know it's a generational thing for those of us who grew up when "chrome reverse" and "Mag" wheels were the only options, but your description of Black wheels is the best I've read. It captures that feeling of "unease" I have when I see them. It's like there's a whole piece missing.

Totally subjective, of course.
