A lady in our retirement park lost her husband about 6 months ago. He had a 2001 torch red coupe. She was wanting to sell it, I offered 10k but she could not make up her mind. So I bought my 2016 torch red base coupe. Now she went to trade her car and the dealer offered 5k for a trade. So now I heard from some people that she wants to talk to me about buying the car. I would give her the 5k for it. She has no idea how to take care of the car. I think it needs a window motor plus it has 80k miles.
Do you guys think it would be worth the 5k, She drives it and it sounds pretty good.

If the car is in good mechanical (other than the window motor) and cosmetic shape, $5K is extremely low. That dealer is really lowballing her and is looking to make a killing on the car when they resell it.
You can do what you want, but I would have a hard time taking advantage of her. If it is in good shape, the $10K would be a more reasonable price for her to expect.

We've all heard the old saying "Karman is a Bitch." Be the man you know you are, and treat her fairly. I mean, she just lost her husband. Don't pile on......Good luck
I would never rip her off, In fact after her husband passed she came over to my house and ask me if I would take all her husbands tools. I went over and looked at them. Her husband was a refrigeration engineer he had scopes, meters, guages, freon all types and a lot of hand tools. I told her that thank you but no thank you. I dont want people in the park calling me a thief for taking stuff from a new widow. I even fix the golf carts in the park just the cost of parts. Some say well I need to give you something, So I tell them a med black coffee from Mc Donalds. Its funny sometimes I find a coffee on my door step. I also tell them that I do to honor the family that gave me a new liver that kept me alive to be able to repair the golf carts. So what I am saying is that I would never rip her off. And believe me I seen people at her house loading up stuff.

I think there is a special place in Hell for people who take advantage of people like her. A decent human would help her get the best fair deal she can - she's going to need it.
I have had the opportunity to take advantage of people and haven't - there is Karma and my parents raised me better.
