Default Rear camera

Hello Tadge, I have a rear camera problem as my camera guide lines disappeared after air bag recall. My dealer is trying to help solve the problem but the Chevrolet TAC Team says my car never had the camera option listed in the infotainment system and my camera does not have the ability to remove guide lines. My question to you is....2LT, Z51 2016 Corvettes come with two different cameras?

Sorry; this isn't something we're likely to send to Tadge. Perhaps someone here can help you. Maybe even one of the various service or dealership reps.

Well, so sorry! I'm not getting answers from dealer or Chevrolet. Why not ask Tadge?

Because he doesn't read and reply to the forums here! You can continue wasting your time and ignore the advice of jvp if you want.

Not ignoring any advice...this is an area I have never explored after all my years on this forum. I am looking for answers from anyone that may have them.

My 16 has lines and I don't see any option to delete them. My manual says I have camera personalization options, but it's not there.

Sometimes these little glitches disappear after disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes to reboot the car.

When you put the car in reverse, I assume you get the camera rear view in screen in the center stack. When you look at that screen, do you see 3 ICONS along the bottom of the screen? The left ICON has a small car with a blue area just in front of the car, the center ICON has a small white car with a blue area just behind it, and the right ICON looks like the rear view camera guidelines. The left ICON is not highlighted because the screen is not showing the front view camera, the center ICON is highlighted to indicate what is active, namely the rear view camera. On my 2017 (which does not have menu options to turn the guidelines on or off), the right ICON is also highlighted to indicate the guidelines are turned ON. Have you tried pushing the right bottom icon to highlight it and see if the guidelines all of sudden appear on the camera view????

I said this in your other thread about this issue, my 16 never had the option to turn them off.

I wonder how many 16 owners that read this will chime in on whether they have this option or not.

Also, just for your info, my 2017 Grand Sport has been updated with the airbag recall software. The procedure to turn the guidelines on and off is exactly the same prior to and after the update.

Also, my 2015 Z06 has been updated with the airbag recall software, however the 2015 has a menu option to turn them on and off, but does not have the 3 icons along the bottom because 2015 Corvettes don't have front view cameras. The menu option is still there after the recall and well as it was there prior to the recall.

Last but not least, 2016 and 2017 Corvettes that are equipped with 1LT option do NOT have front view cameras, so I am not sure what you would see on the screen. What level is your car? 1LT, 2LT, or 3LT? That might be why someone is telling you 2016's have two versions of cameras. Them that have front and rear; and them with rear only.

I just went to my local dealer's website (Dan Cummins where I purchased both of my current Corvettes) and pull up some of his in stock Corvettes. He shows very detailed pictures of each car taken by the dealership. All of the 1LT optioned cars (base, Z51, GS, and Z06) DO NOT have the 3 ICONS along the bottom of the screen when the rear view camera is active but all of the cars that have 2LT or 3LT options have the 3 ICONS along the bottom of the screen. So, not sure how to turn the grid lines on and off on a 1LT option car, maybe a menu is available on that level car??? My 2017 is a 2LT option car.
