Z06 Repo wheel question
So it's only taken a year to finally get my Continental A/S tires mounted on new chrome Z06 reproduction wheels........they are not on the car as yet as I'm waiting for Reverse Logic Lug Guides which I just ordered tonight.
When I ordered the wheels from 1stratecorvetteparts, Keith advised me to only wash them in plain old soap and water. Didn't think much about that at the time, but now it dawned on me that the brake dust needs more than soap to dissolve it, doesn't it? Plus, I have read that many of you guys who bought the same wheels have applied different coatings ( like Cquartz) to help keep the dust to a minimum.
If Keith says only soap and water, what might chemicals and cleaners do to reduce the beautiful chrome finish over time?
So the question is what do you guys recommend to clean and protect these wheels, and what are you currently using?
Thanks in advance.

My detailer uses Iron-X and Hydro2 sealant. Both are safe on chrome per the product mfg.

I've had good success using Dawn dish detergent to remove the brake dust. Mine is a base car without the Z-51 that I understand is much worse with the dust.
However if it doesn't work for you, you can use it to wash your dishes.
