Lookin good! Been 40's-50's here in New England. I will keep it on the road until the salt and sand starts to fly. Noticed the tires on my Z51 don't like the 40 degree temps to much. A bit of slippin and slidin on dry pavement

Wow!!!! Unfortunately your car will have depreciated about $3,000 sitting there in its bubble. Remember the C7 is not a collectible. In my area more people are driving their Corvettes, even in winter. I see about two or three C7s on the road every day. The uniqueness of the C7 Corvette is starting to fade.

Yup completely understand but it's paid for and mine so she gets a nice warm condom to live in for the next 5 months. And when I take it out it will be clean and $3000 cheaper!! I have a lifted JKU for the winter so why get it all dirty.

Nice detail on a great looking Grand Sport.
I own a '14 Arctic White coupe with Z51, black wheels, red calipers, and white mirrors. I spent 10 hours two weekends ago, washing, removing the old wax, clay bar, polish with Adam's polish, and two coats of Adams paint sealant. Great minds think alike.
Although I will be driving mine this winter.

Dawn detergent is widely used to detail vehicles. It is a good stripping agent that will not hurt the clear coat in any way. It is a great product to remove any grease or oils and helps break away contaminants.
Auto shampoos are expensive and using Dawn will result in the same if not better cleaning result. Using Dawn however, requires a good rinse to remove all residue.
Although KratosBear waxed the C7 he will need to start the process all over if he ultimately decides to use the Pinnacle Black Diamond Ceramic Paint Coating. The ceramic paint coatings are far superior to any wax. I highly recommend the ceramic paint coatings over a traditional wax product for durability and longevity to protect the paint finish. Using a ceramic paint coating makes future cleaning and washing the vehicle so much easier. I am sure any C7 owner who has had their vehicle ceramic coated will agree on the future ease of cleaning/washing the vehicle.
His C7 is protected during the winter but probably should have gone directly with the ceramic paint coating to save time and labor in the future.
Also, suggest the new surface prep gloves like NanoSkin or Eagle One Surface Prep gloves which increase's speed in the detail process vs an older style clay bar.
Every auto detailer has their own choices of what to use and the process.
The process of auto detailing takes time and labor when making an effort to do it correctly. When you really want to care for the car, it takes time, but the end result is self-satisfaction indeed. Surface prep is the most important aspect of any auto detailing job.
KratosBear has a very nice looking C7 GS.

I like it! Looked at the same setup but decided against it! Hell, my neighbors think I am crazy without my vette! I am a lawn fanatic! I have more pics of my lawn than my kids... Lol

You can make your own bubble by laying a thick plastic tarp on the garage floor (from Home Depot). Then just drive the vette over it. Put the cover on and carefully tuck the plastic tarp inside the bottom of the cover. I did this last winter and it worked great. I always make sure I can see my battery tender light through the clear plastic. I had just connected it before this pic.

if you're going to clay/nanoscrub or whatever to the car anyway and compound it you're removing all the wax regardless without putting that harsh dishwash soap on all the trim, rubber plastics etc.
Maybe it does nothing but why would you want to take a chance?

Just my own $0.02 but since Procter & Gamble the makers of dawn say that you shouldn't use their dishwasher soap on your vehicle I would think that's a pretty good sign that you shouldn't use your dishwash soap on your vehicle.

When I was younger, on mischief night, I would go around and wash all the nice cars in the neighborhood with dawn soap! Boy, were they in for a treat!

Once the vehicle is stripped down of any old wax, or other surface paint products, the use of Dawn in the future is not needed and becomes very limited in use.
Once the ceramic paint coating is applied, there will be no use for the Dawn in the future for many years to come. A mild car wash product like Duragloss Spot Free 901 will work great for washing. Then rinse and waffle weave dry for a great shine and retain the reflective qualities that the ceramic paint coatings provide.

Also sold at Amazon.
I use this method for all my premium sports cars that I own.
Proper surface prep is the key to obtaining a great detailing finish.
