I brought my 16 c7 1lt in for service today and did the air bag recall. The service advisor advised me the vehicle also had a recall on the performance data recorder. I informed him I only had two options on it a8,and nnp. I have no performance data recorder. He stated they were going to program one in.(recall 15814) When I picked up the vehicle I had a working performance data recorder. This was a surprise to me . Does anyone know about this
I didnt realize it came completely hardware ready and all that is needed is a software upgrade for cars that idnt have it. So all cars are hardware ready for PDR? I have PDR and love it in mine but what color does your screen sho on the recorded playbacks? Im a little color blind and the current color scheme on my playbacks makes it hard to see the numbers for 0 to 60 times and all.
The performance data timer is not part of the data recorder. It was standard on all 14s and 15s. Early 16s did not have it in the software. It is speculated there was an update the the software which left it off in error. Later 16s came from the factory with the timer in the software. There was later a Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) (not recall, recalls are for safety issues) issued with the procedure to install the later 16 software.

If you have a 2015 ~ 2017 Corvette WITHOUT a Performance Data Recorder this is a manual means to record track data. To do this, the driver will first scroll through the DIC to the Lap Timer, then press the RH arrow on the steering wheel controls to start, stop, and reset the timer. If you have the PDR in your Corvette, you already have the Lap Timer as part of the PDR.
See PIC 6209A on the Corvette Action Center Knowledgebase.
