So I just plasti-dipped my Vette

I'm fully aware of plastidip and applaud your effort for experimenting to see how it looks. With that said, the inherent orange peel and flat gloss of the plastidip make it appear as though it was a fresh paint job applied with a paint roller. If the plastidip would lay flat on the paint and have gloss comparable to standard paint, I think the car would look fantastic, but I know some actually like a flat or matte finish so perhaps you achieved your goal. As long as you like it, that's the main thing.

I like the color of everything.. I just think you should have some sort of color contrast to go with the green.. Not have EVERYTHING 1 color... Peel some pd off and show some of that carbon flash the car comes with. Now that would be sick!!

More like maryland I think.
I'd say one of the big issues is the color green. It's not a fave color and thus it not only doesn't sell well, it doesn't "SELL" well in any format.
For me, I like green. I also like bronze, copper, etc. colored wheels but am not adverturous enough to own a set. The combo looks fine to me but if it were mine, it'd be glossy green and painted!

I think many people here don't know enough about plasti-dip, which is why they're shocked that you did this. It can easily come off, and he could probably revert the car back to original in about an hour, so no big deal!
We plasti-dipped my friend's C6 GS wheels black a few years back, and the problem was rather the durability of the paint. After a few track days, and getting hit by rubber on the track (marbles), the paint started flaking and chipping off in multiple locations. After a month or two, he decided to just remove it.
I don't know how durable it will be on the body, but I wonder what happens if it start peeling off on one of the bigger panels? You can't just patch it, so you will have to peel that whole panel and re-apply. It might get boring after a while : )
Please report your long term experience; I'm curious. For those who quickly diss it, we should also note it will actually be protecting the original paint, much like vinyl wraps, so you don't need to feel bad. Regarding color choice, I think I'd do dark gray / dark orange wheels, but it's a personal choice.

Has nothing to do with lack of understanding about plasti-dip. It's the look & color that people are commenting on.
