Haven't driven with them yet. Stuck a Diet Coke in there, and it grips pretty well. Chevrolet should have made them deeper. Guess they couldn't.

Sorry, but your last comment read concurrently while viewing your avatar, makes it difficult to recall the original purpose of this thread....

I had to choose my wording carefully. I didn't want to say makes the hole smaller, but guess it came out that way anyway

Basic problem is the Cup Insert is not attached securely. Found that out 3 years ago when a full bottle of water tilted with the insert in a 1+ g stop and spilled water all over. Glued the insert to the base and a snug bottle holds in 1+ g stops and turns.

Recently found an even easier way to accomplish and make the holder recess deeper! Remove the ~3/32 thick rubber pad below the insert. It just pulls out, it's not attached. Then I used UV activated plastic adhesive to make a fillet from insert to the bottom; then turn on the UV light.

Made my bottle snug with the soft side of Velcro and a few felt pads. Always have water in the Vette when I drive.

Bottle Fits Tight but Insert Tilted Upon a Fast Stop-Water All Over!
