Default Battery problem after disconnected

After disconnecting and reconnecting the negative cable on the battery a problem has developed. Now the radio on/off, volume **** (I can control the volume through the steering wheel controls,) screen up and down switch and outdoor temperature reading do not work. Any ideas what's wrong? And, yes, I did a search regarding the problem before posting this question. Thanks.

Should straighten itself out after a few drive cycles.

Same thing happened to me. I drove it for 10 minutes, turned the car off and on.

Everything went back to normal.

Ok I think I found the problem. The second photo shows the ribbon wire connected. In the third photo, using plastic wedge, I am able to separate the ribbon from the connection. There is no glue or tape holding the ribbon to the connection. I brought the unit to my local Chevrolet deal and spoke to their Corvette mechanic. He thinks it is defective and is ordering me a new unit. Not sure what disconnecting the battery had to do with the problem. I'm guessing it was just a coincidence.

Why is it defective? You used a pry tool to get it apart. Why not just push the ribbon back into the connector?

Why do you have the dash apart anyway?

WelderGuy.........The ribbon doesn't connect via a snap. I used the pry tool to show that the ribbon is not secured to the connector. Obviously, I did not pry the ribbon free from the connection. The bottom line is the ribbon is not making a good connection resulting in the above mentioned problems. I took the dash apart to find out what the problem was.
