I have a base model C7 Coupe and am thinking about adding the poverty splitter. For those with a base model and the front plastic "air dams" under the front bumper, did you remove these when you added the splitter? I know that they don't do much under 100 mph.

I removed mine off my Z51. You have to remove the screws that hold them on to install the splitter anyway. l just decided at that time not to put them back on. I like the look without them and your right about not having any adverse effects on the car at highway speeds.
Why are you going with the poverty line? That's like taking your prom date to Denny's.
We went signature series, have repaired it twice, and think it finishes the car off nicely. On the splitter, we went NRB on NRB. Skirts were Blade Silver with NRB stripe.
Good choice going with the poverty splitter, and I would leave the air dams on. They do serve as a good warning when they scrape letting you slow down or take some other action to avoid any underside real damage.

My car is Shark Grey and I think that the poverty splitter painted Carbon Flash would set it off and blend in with the other Carbon items. I also don't want to spend $600+. What you linked looks great but not what I wanted. Thanks for the suggestion!
I left my air dams on too when installing the splitter. They are there for a reason. I also did not paint mine as this is the way they are factory installed on the Atlantic, Pacific, Z06 Stage 1 and Grand Sport models. I think they look fine as is!

Nope just installed the splitter. I see no reason to remove it.
Air dams do reduce drag and at highway speeds do increase fuel mileage. That was from the GM chief aerodynamicist. For functional proof, the Chevy Volt has a large air dam and per GM increases the mileage when operating on battery.
Does anyone make side skirts from the same material as the OEM poverty splitter?
Why would you want cheap flex plastic side skirts?
I can understand why the material is used on a front splitter (will get beat up over time/scraped/etc), but those aren't things that will happen to the side skirts. Get ACS, they're the best.
