It i kinda wierd, I hope no one was marking your car so they could recognize it later on. Like maybe follow you home to scope things out or something. Be aware of your surroundings.
Park in a lot away from everybody to avoid door dings, there were no cars near me. When I was going out to my car I saw something on the passenger front and rear rim. Get close and it was some type of pink wax on the same lug nut on the front and rear rim. Was definitely not there when I parked in the morning. My only thought is that some knucklehead must have thought it would be funny to do that.
What's your why would anyone do that story?
Thought of another possibility! Happens on my dock often. Here is the scenario:
The wind was blowing toward the car while a goose (or duck) was flying overhead that just ate some red berries and relieved itself- this might occur. The spacing is about what I see on the dock when a series of "loads" are dropped by geese leaving our lake!
May have to bring some of the pink "stuff" in for analysis!

Lipstick > Seagull = WHY
(Seagull eats lipstick drops load) This forum always comes together to solve the unexplainable.
All kidding aside I think JerryU got this one right.
Today, or the last 10 some odd years we have become a sick society, and it will get worse. This is a major negative to owning a nice Car these days. Back in the 70s and 80s this was not an issue. Owning a really nice car today is high risk and expensive. Your only option is to drive beaters and not worry about it (and a heck of a lot cheaper).
Since it was on the passenger side it was probably on your car before arriving. Where was your car the prior day and when was the last time you remember looking at your passenger side wheels. Could be some neighborhood kids playing around.
Our country is badly divided after the Clinton victory and Trump is the President-Elect.
..
WHAT?? Clinton victory? I would not call 3 million illegals, and all the dead people voting for Killary a victory. The Voters stood up against the corruption!! That's why TRUMP is President-Elect.

Depends where you live, if a Corvette stands out as an expensive or exotic car where you park then sure its a target. I bury mine between 80K SUVs, they are bigger targets
FWIW I have had my 'nice' cars vandalized back in the 70s and 80s for no reason, at least I could think of. Many times it has nothing to do with what you drive but what you did a few minutes before you park. Sometimes an innocent traffic move can **** off someone enough to follow you and do some damage.
Anyhow, I have no idea what that is or why its there, can honestly say thats a pretty benign way of vandalizing a car if thats what it is. You never know some unsupevised child might have been waking by with some kind of goop and though he/she would personalize the car a bit.

When I'm at this building most "nice" cars park in this back lot. You get a lot of space to yourself since it's a farther walk. I'm pretty good about spotting things that are out of order, so can't imagine I would have missed this from the day before. I suppose anything can happen, then again how would I have picked it up period becomes the question. Car is garaged and I live in a court with no little kids running around.
Maybe JerryU nailed it with the spruce goose and I should go get it analzyed at the local lab.
I beg to differ but today we seem to have more anger than ever before. The "Have Nots" are jealous and want revenge. I see it where I live. I'm not here to judge people but we have the right to own a nice Car and not be hassled. A few weeks back at my local Publix a man about 75 years of age and his wife parked their red Ferrari in the lot and some guy walks up to them and he started yelling he was a selfish greedy SOB. A fight almost ensued. Dude even said he had a Gun. Sadly, in the big cities owning a nice Car today is a real challenge. You live out in the boonies in East Tennessee, no beach, cheap land, cheap homes, very few people, no 3rd world immigrants, etc. I live in South Florida, a whole different animal.

Nothing cheap where I live lol. Some big tourist areas near here, most visited national park in the US I believe, so plenty of traffic and tourists. Plenty of immigrants too, houses need to be built and there are several sanctuary towns - even some protests recently like the 'real' cities. Cost of living is cheaper in many areas here but if you want good schools and low crime you have to pay up like every other area.
All the cars that were vandalized were when I lived in Chicago, got in a few fights over it as well but I'm too old for that crap these days. Been lucky here for the last 15 years as far as vandalism but I have been accosted in parking lots over it, usually by college hipsters trying to impress their friends. People around here are a bit more friendly though and take care of their own.

Could have been a dog with something in its mouth too I guess, cant see someone bending down to do that when they could have just smeared it somewhere else.
I doubt it was something you ran over but who knows, I put a stick through the fender of one of my old M3s a while ago. I remember hearing a noise and seeing a stick fly out in the mirror but didnt think much of it. Two days later I noticed a tear/hole through the metal fender and plastic fender liner. I would have never thought in a million years running over a stick could do that much damage, strange things happen on the road.

It is pretty sad that you have to worry about people vandalizing your property because of x,y,z factor. Should be able to park and not worry about something happening to your car but unfortunately that's not the reality of things.
Remember watching a YT video of a guy who put a camera on his Ferrari to catch people's reactions. Few people spit on it, spilled things on it and I believe someone even swirled an ice cream cone in it. Just sad that some people don't have respect for others property.
A while back my buddy parked his 911 turbo outside a restaurant and when he came back some useless person was sitting on the hood talking on their cell phone.
As all the other comments, this is a total guess. Wax can be used on a lug nut to make it very easy to get off. (Hot wax) Maybe was starting to apply and was spooked and ran.
Possibly, the perpetrator was going to steel the wheels.
