My $78K+ MSRP C7 came with valve stem caps that cost GM <$0.05 each.
I was in Advance Auto and saw these bad boys and I even figured out how to remove the old ones and install these new ones that now match my lug nuts and center cap to a Tee:
Yep, $3.49 plus tax and 2 minutes later I have now upgraded my C7 AGAIN!
Are you feeling it?
Impressive right?
It's a lot more classy than those glass packs I installed on my ride in high school too.....

Reason: better pic
If they are metal be careful. Some of the metal caps can corrode and you will never get them off. If they are metal try a thin coat of grease on the threads first.
Subtle mods make a huge difference in making the car look better! Two inexpensive mods that I thought made a big difference in appearance was black lug nuts, and blacked out side markers. blows me away that chrome lugs come stock with black wheels..

I don't know why GM would use grey caps with black rims, I swapped mine out immediately with cheap black plastic ones and as one poster said, be careful with metal ones, definitely grease them.

Electrolysis is a bad thing, that problem will remain hidden till your in a bind then you will say trash these things.....as bad as this may sound get you some fancy PLASTIC caps you like for trouble free times down the road.
Some of you really got my attention here. These are an aluminum covers over a plastic thread insert. I greased the threads anyway just to be doubly sure and now I will start sleeping better and breathing easier. I am glad to have your wisdom and am now going back to enjoying my mod again.

Exactly what I was thinking...
With aluminum valve stems, any dis-similar metal will cause galvanic corrosion. Not good.
I would stick with the high tech plastic ones.
I actually like the factory silver/gray ones... I have not seen them on anything but my Stingray..
I never did either until a year ago when I tried to remove the metal valve stem caps on my BMW. They were frozen on solid and I consider myself very lucky to have gotten them off without severely damaging the stem of tire pressure sensors. If you have metal ones, grease them and don't tighten them.
