I've dealt with a lowered Corvette before. Never again. Yes it looks nice but if you want to get out and drive it you will deal with constant driveway in and out issues not to mention speed bumps in parking lots.
On the other hand if you want a trailer queen then go for it.
It seems that most splitter damaged is the result of hitting the front of it on a curb, or something, not necessarily scraping it from underneath. If scrapped, the damage goes mostly unnoticed, at least from my experienced on other low profile cars.
IMO, if you hit a curb, you will not only be out the cost of the splitter, but the cost of bumper guard, and possible additionally damage caused by the bumper guard...

Lowered vehicles is a ghetto thing plus it's hella dangerous. Corvettes already sit low to the ground and are considered by NASA as one of the most dangerous vehicles in case of an accident. Trucks can easily run over you, and crush you! Keep your Vette stock stance! Don't be a dummy!
Looks interesting to stop scrapping the bottom after the air dam is removed. However than the next thing to hit is the radiator support also called the skid pads! That is much worse than the air dam, made of aluminum and the sound it terrible!
I Installed FANGS that are a help. Hit the skid pads several times with my C6 and only once with my C7 but the FANGS prevented any damage.
Flexible plastic air dams act as a warning before you do real damage and hit the next lowest item, these aluminum skid pads, or what GM calls a radiator support.

I assure you if a truck hits you that 1" isn't going to make a difference.

I disagree. Every inch helps. The higher you sit, the safer you are. Most of buddies run Lifted Tundras as DDs. I've known a few people who were run over by Dump Trucks and other trucks, it is a horrid scene! Never ever lower your Car. This must be dumbest thing ever invented.
