Default C7 hibernation pix thread

This is the first car I have ever had that I planned to store for the winter . . . My first salt-free car!

Kind of an odd feeling to put it away for the winter. Thought we should have a hibernation thread--kind of a Northern "misery-loves-company thread."

Cleaned, detailed and a fresh coat of Kenotek (like this stuff!)

And wearing the Christmas gift from my understanding wife . . .

If I am going to look at it daily might as well have some fun. Actually, makes me think of a kid asleep wearing Superman pajamas.

I just don't want to put the cover on the vette yet because it suddenly becomes real. I guess I still have hope of sunny days, although that will end quickly if the snow continues and they salt tonight

The neighbors think I'm nuts. Of course they already did when they saw me drying it with the Master Blaster.

Wow, my first bubble-boy siting!

Thanks everyone (almost) for the sympathy and the photos. The cover, by the way, was ordered from Cultrag Performance.

I just park it.

I had it detailed last week but then it was in the 70's the past two days and drove it. If we get a decent day in the next few weeks I might spray it off.

It just sits in the 3rd bay for the winter.

I have stored cars in the past, and will certainly use a battery tender, but the winters in the Northeast no longer last from Halloween to Easter. As such, I'll have it easily accessible for those 60 degree December and January days. It was 75 degrees yesterday!

Oh, she is still a garage queen. The roads will have to be salt and cider free of course.

Damn Jon, I love TR Z51 convertible w/ the black wheels and top, red calipers and accents. That was exactly the color combo I was looking for when searching for a CPO. I settled for black on black on black because I couldn't find an M7 version of your color combo anywhere in the country at the time.

While I've never put a car away for the winter, I did live in Minneapolis for 8 years and wouldn't have driven a C7 in the MN winter. However, I did drive an M3 on snow tires year-round.

Thanks! After years of shifting manuals, my Audi S5 was a fun transition to paddle shifting. So far liking my A8 a lot--sometimes Auto, sometimes Manual.

Regarding MN winters . . .I had snow tires for my 911 C4S but I hated to look under the car and see the suspension parts rusting due to the salt. Same for my Audi S5. Figured enough is enough!

Dang that car cover looks great. If only it was a reasonable price, or added 10 HP.
