OEM Run Flats were near the wear bars at 15000 miles ( no track time)
Replaced with Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ NON runflats.
* no more temp restrictions in the North anymore
* no slow speed wheel scrubbing in tight turns
* quieter
* softer ride
I carry a can of slime/air compressor ( GM Brand) and the car comes with several years of Road side assistance. I phoned GM roadside assistance and they confirmed the operators know when calling for roadside help that low riding cars need special handling , like a flat bed.
It's not a ZP issue. All summer performance tires are like this when warm. The reason they have copious amounts of grip is only because they are very sticky when warm. The same chemical properties of the rubber compound makes them very hard, with little grip when cold.
Sorry to revive an old thread, but I didn't notice anywhere in this thread (or any other comparison thread) the answer to this:
Do either the ZP's or DW06's pick up small chips/pebbles/rocks at slow speeds? The one thing I do not like at all with my Z51 OEM tires is that it picks up everything once they come to temp. Outstanding performance for sure, but I am done with the DD rocks hitting my rockers and wheel wells every time I enter a less than perfect road surface.
Thanks for your replies.
My 2015 is a DD and I have about 2 miles of rough country road to get to the main highway. My Michelin Pilot Sport AS 3+ tires do not throw nearly the gravel and debris on that road as my OEM SS Run Flat tires did. I no longer hear all the pinging noise of that loose material hitting the car.

Switched to the DWS06's. So far so good. Road noise is less and I definitely do not hear all the splattering of road debris being tossed up like I did with the stock Super Sports
A great deal of that has to do with the pavement being cold now. No tire is very sticky in January in these parts.
You are so correct sir! On my Launch Control runs and WOT's. I am experiencing a lot of fishtailing. Between the stable track and traction control nannies it straightens out very nicely. In the temperatures over 42 degrees it was rock solid. But, all in all I am very pleased with my Michelin all season.

LOL J, I'm running the AS3+ all seasons now which are very similar to your DWS06s. They are both great for this time of year, and probably all year round. You will find them less sticky in the summer too.
However, come summer I'll put the PSS back on. I have a surplus of them laying around.
