Default Recall question

Been putting off doing the anti syphon recall since the grid is still in place and I wasn't all that worried about it. Got another recall notice today for the airbag.

So I figured I better get them both fixed. My dealer (Kerbeck)is 2 hrs away, so I'd like to get it fixed locally. I talked to the service rep today, and he said he needs the car for 2 or 3 days. I told him the gas filler still has the the grid in place and it should be an easy fix. He said I was wrong and repeated the 2 to 3 day thing. I don't even want it there over night.

Question for anyone who has had these recalls done. How long will it actually take to replace the fuel filler tube? Also how long for the airbag recall. I believe the airbag fix is just a download issue??

The gas filler tube recall was already implemented when I bought the 2014 in January of this year. However the airbag was reprogrammed when I had the clutch fluid and oil replaced along with a state inspection. All that work took about 2 hours. Others have posted here that the reprogram by itself take 30 minutes.

The air bag is an hour tops, should be less. The fuel screen I'm not sure. Hopefully someone will chime in that's had it done.

I don't recall the exact length of time for the fuel screen recall, but I got it and a routine service done in less than a day at my local dealer.

If you run your tanks almost out of gas before taking it to them they will appreciate it very much. You don't have to because they will drain and refill whatever is in there, but it is always better to have a happy and grateful service tech working on your car. They have to remove the right side fuel tank to do the job. On mine, there was no sign at all that it had been touched when they were done.

I still need to get the airbag fix done.

Best of luck!

Actual time less than 30 min once the tech has the car.

Here is the service bulletin for replacing the inlet nozzle.
If still in place, .7 hours.
I changed mine in less than an hour, even figuring out how to do it.
I should have just removed the grid and put the inlet back in.

Thats exactly what I did Much easier gassing up too without the flow restriction! It was very simple to do removed the wheel well liner and went for it, pretty simple.

Sounds like there is no way it should take 2-3 days to do the work you need done. Perhaps find another dealer or schedule it with Kerbeck's.

I've had both recalls performed at separate times. Both times in and out in an hour, including an oil change.

2-3 days is BS, IMO. Provided your grid is still in place, that is.

Filler tube recall = NA. Airbag recall = an hour. (appt. for this Saturday, and my tech said it's a 30 minute job but plan for roughly an hour. As others have said...2-3 days sounds like you should avoid that dealer. Hope it all works out well for you.
