Default Decision time

So I went to the Spring Mountain school to drive the Stingray for the first time for our store and I pretty much fell in love with the car. It handles extremely well and of course the interior is stout. Now the question is can I part with my ZR or wait and see if Chevrolet has something coming out that will be comparable to what I am currently driving. Tough choice!! If I get a Z06 it will be a sweet ride for sure, but I wonder if I would miss my ZR. She is definitely unique. I just don't want to be kicking myself if something with more performance is on the horizon. LOL!! Decisions, decisions. :toe tap:

Have an awesome day!

One of the worst kept "secrets" is that a new C7 ZR1 is coming out for 2018. I can empathize with your position. I had to choose between a C7 Z51 and a C6 ZR1. I chose the C7 for a number of different reasons. However, the C6 ZR1 is something special and I relive that decision everytime I'm at a Cars N' Coffee and see the ZR1s pulling in. If I were in your shoes, I'd wait at least until April when the 2018s are announced and you can get a good look at a new ZR1. BTW, get ready to put a big dent in your wallet as speculation is they will sell for around $150K.

You know your ZR, so what's a great track record worth?
Chevrolet will always introduce something besting previous year.
Plus I'd guess a C6 ZR1 can run w/ C7's big dog as it is now, or damned close.

Spent a little time at my dealer considering a '17 black/black-red Z06 w/ all the bells and whistles. CF whatnots. MSRP $95 large.
Beautiful, fresh B2B and it probably goes like snot.

OTOH, have owned an '08 JSB Z06 eight years w/ 52K.
Easily most reliable car I've ever owned, great MPG considering and still has more 'passing power' than I w/could ever use. Proven, and *I* have the pink slip.
Therein, lies my decision.

As for this new ZR at $150K?
Will GM make the same mistake Ford did pricing '05/'06 GTs?
Bet they don't.
Every GT was preproduction sold and like Ford GM'll sell every car planned before production begins.
MSRP should be quite high, promises to be amusing seeing who buys these ZRs as much as the cars themselves.

This is good advice. Depending on what the C7 ZR1 is like, you may just want to keep your C6 ZR1. The C7 Z06 is a great car, but how much better than the C6 ZR1 is a personal decision.
