I've seen a couple. There is someone on this forum who has a red Z06, and several vids posted on YouTube, that has "Student Driver" on his rear bumper. 'JMC Ride,' I think...
I picked up these in Thailand a few weeks ago and was thinking the same thing. I saw one on a vehicle in Bangkok and asked my friend what it meant. She told me it meant student driver. Literal translation is an apology or request for forgiveness and then new at this or just learning, at least that's what I can recall. She told me there is one they also use that is a little more rude. Basically "go fvck yourself, I'm just learning to drive!" I couldn't find one of those.
Well, I got my Student Driver sign, but it is one of those magnetic type that will stick to a refrigerator, but because of the composite material in the Vette it won't stick to it. How about if I use some double sided tape? Would that be an issue for the paint? I wanted to go out and drive today and it would sure be fun to get that sign on the back. Any advice would be appreciated.
Yes, double sticky tape will work, but when you remove it, you will need to clean off the residue with goo-gone or acetone. We did that when my daughter was learning to drive on our old Saturn. I would find some foam type that is not industrial strength, so that pulling it off is easier. Fishing line or dental floss is helpful, as well.
