if you don't drive it often the battery drains due ot parasitic loss. Get a battery maintener. There is a plug in the hatch which is always on to plug it into. CTEK makes a great battery trickle charger in fact it is the same as the one chevy sells as the battery protection package
I had a bad battery in a new Silverado that died within months, also leaking acid all over the engine compartment and staining my driveway. It happens.
My C6 use to do this sporadically......i would hit the start and hear clicking and the car wouldnt start. There were some posts about this in the C6 forum and the general consensus was that it was the fob getting some interference from an outside source like a cell phone. I would just wait a couple minutes, shut off or reboot my cell phone, and all was well.
The C7 doesn't have the parasitic battery draw that the C6 does. Plain and simple.
If your C7 battery goes dead in less than a month, some unusual thing is going on. Certainly, the OP drives often enough and long enough that the battery (if not defective) should maintain a charge.
I always put my C6Z on the charger if I was going to not use it more than a few days. After reading your post I believed you and left for 8 days without putting it on the protector. Came home to day to a new C7Z with a completely dead battery. If you have a protector use it!
I put mine on the trickle charger anytime it will not be driven for 4 days or over as the key off drain will pull the battery down in that time. And that was true in my C4, C5Z, C6Z and certainly the new car.

Chevy does do this. I don't see why you are having problems. I routinely let my '13 GS with original battery sit outside in the Northeast for 15-25 days at a clip w/o a charger and it starts right up every time. Even if my battery should die tomorrow I got four strong years out of it.

Again, if your battery is draining in this amount of time, something is wrong.
