I have a 2015 A8 and I feel a little of a struggle going from Park to Reverse. She only has 5000 mile son her. I really dont know why this problem is occurring if anyone as any info on this I would appreciate it.
**I owned a C7 for about 10k miles and never had this problem. This is a recently purchased C7 that was bought with 5k miles on it. Same year.
PS. I believe its a little rough/hard into neutral but not as much from park to reverse.
You need the stator shaft and check valve TSB done and along with that tell them you have intermittent vibrations at hwy speed and that will get you the new updated torque converter. They have to pull the whole rear end of the car apart and drop the tranny. Might as well get it all done at once. The T/C will fail eventually as well. Ahhhhh the pleasures of owning an A8 transmission!

Let's not rush to a conclusion. What does "struggle" mean?
I have to put more effort into placing it into reverse from park. It feels like there is something keeping it in park. A small grinding type feel.
It is nothing close to how my other c7 was.
I have not driven a lot, only put about 20 miles on her.
Before I tore anything out I think I would have the dealer check the shifter itself. It may just need a little adjusting, or a bit of work on the park release system itself. Good luck.

Agreed. Doesn't sound like any other issues people have run into, so it may be a simple mechanical adjustment. Could also be the lock mechanism not fully releasing.

I have heartburn, so I'm going to tell my surgeon I need a heart transplant. This is probably a very simple fix. And to suggest that someone lie about their symptoms is disingenuous and dishonest.
