With cold weather/snow/ice coming soon, never too soon to start thinking about Spring!
NCM Bash registration is now open...I'm considering NCM Motorsports Park Touring Laps on 4/26, but since it says "average highway speeds" it doesn't seem like much fun to drive around the track at 80 or so....has anyone done this before, and if so, would you do it again, and why or why not?
Well....it's not too exciting! I wouldn't do it if my wife didn't like to see the tracks I run. You'll probably do 3 laps and be lucky to get up to 60-65 mph!!
My wife is such a good sport to attend soooo many track events with me. She doesn't like going out during active track sessions anymore - says the G-loads with a helmet on bother her neck. But she likes a touring/parade lap now and then, and has been around many tracks.
Here's a lap around the NCM Motorsports Park during the inaugural track event at the track in Sept 2014:
I start looking forward to the next bash as soon as getting home from the last one. In another couple of weeks we'll be three quarters of the way there!

We sponsor the "Hot laps with Heinricy" part of the HPDE. John and I will be up there for the bash Hpde. If you want a thrill, sign up for that and tell me that you're not blown away. The proceeds go to the Museum. His car is blazing fast. If you don't know if him, google "Heinrocket". He can flat out drive!!!
Anybody drives to the Bash from the East Coast (NY/NJ/CT/PA, etc.) or it's too long of a trip in a Vette? I was thinking about going until I mapquested it.

Drove down solo from the PRNJ last year and will do so again this year...
Stayed overnight in Charleston WV and then on to BG...It is not too long a trip for the C7...seats and driving position are made for long rides...on the way back, stopped overnight at the LaQuinta in Morgantown...much nicer the the Charleston Super 8!

You're kidding us right ? The '15 C7 that I took delivery of a year ago this week has just shy of 40k on the clock. The 6 mo old Z06 has right at 18k on the clock. The car was designed for long distance touring ! Get out there and drive it !!

Haven't been to the bash but have been to the Labor Day Birthday Bash quite a few times. Drove from Northeast PA to Bowling Green 10-11 hour trip.
